UPR Foundation donation to ENACTUS student groups

Financial Support Boosts International Representation and Academic Achievements of UPR ENACTUS Teams

On September 17, 2025, the UPR Foundation, Inc. approved and formalized a donation of $2,500.00 to support the ENACTUS student teams from the UPR Humacao and UPR Utuado campuses, regional champions, for their participation in the 2025 ENACTUS World Cup, held from September 25-27, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The funds were distributed as scholarships or financial aid of $250.00 to each of the ten (10) participating students to facilitate their representation in this prestigious international academic competition. The students who received the support belonged to the UPR Humacao and UPR Utuado ENACTUS teams, which officially represented the University of Puerto Rico on the world stage.

This philanthropic support coincided with significant academic and social entrepreneurship achievements by both teams. At the ENACTUS Puerto Rico 2025 National Competition, the UPR Utuado team won the Early Stage category with their Organic Erosion Control (C.O.D.E.) project, an initiative focused on soil restoration and erosion mitigation through the sustainable use of vetiver grass. Meanwhile, the UPR Humacao team won the national championship in the Impact category with their Comfy Bum project, a circular economy proposal that reuses discarded tires to make pet beds, supporting animal shelters and creating employment opportunities for women and at-risk youth.

Thanks to these achievements, both teams were selected to represent Puerto Rico and the University of Puerto Rico at the ENACTUS 2025 World Cup in Bangkok, solidifying their outstanding international participation and reaffirming the talent, innovation, and social commitment of the university's student body. The achievements of the teams were celebrated and publicized by the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) through its institutional platforms and official social media channels, highlighting the positive impact of these initiatives on local and international communities.

The support of the UPR Foundation, Inc. was fundamental in making this global academic experience possible, demonstrating the value of university philanthropy in strengthening educational opportunities, student entrepreneurship, and the international reach of the University of Puerto Rico.
