Donation channeled through the UPR Foundation strengthens the Scholarship Fund of the School of Medicine

The UPR Foundation, Inc. formalized the delivery of a $25,000.00 donation to the Scholarship Fund of the School of Medicine at the Medical Sciences Campus (RCM) of the University of Puerto Rico, received from The Dávila-Nigaglioni Charitable Fund, through Vanguard Charitable.

The donation, made by check dated April 10, 2025, was channeled by the UPR Foundation as a contribution to the School of Medicine's scholarship fundraising gala and was held in memory of Dr. Adán Nigaglioni, a prominent figure historically linked to the development of medicine in Puerto Rico. This contribution also coincides with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the School of Medicine, reaffirming the Foundation's philanthropic commitment to the training of future healthcare professionals.

The donation was specifically designated to strengthen the financial resources available for student scholarships, directly benefiting medical students and supporting academic initiatives aligned with the educational mission of the Medical Sciences Campus.

This philanthropic effort complements other support initiatives channeled by the UPR Foundation, Inc., as part of its ongoing commitment to academic excellence, equity in access to medical education, and recognition of the legacy of distinguished professionals who have significantly contributed to the development of public health in Puerto Rico.
